My Background

Susan Graves, M.M., holds a Master of Music degree in Classical Guitar Performance from the University Of Redlands . She teaches guitar, voice and piano through her private music studio in Redlands . She also serves on the faculty of the University of Redlands School of Music CSMA. Her music education agency, the Graves Music School, provides excellence in music education for students of Guitar, Piano, Voice, Violin and more, through highly-qualified faculty to many charter schools and private students throughout Southern California. She is a staff musician at the Packinghouse Church, Redlands, and regularly performs for venues and events throughout Southern California. Both her performance and teaching styles have been greatly influenced by her late husband, renowned classical guitarist Terry Graves, founding member of the award-winning Falla Guitar Trio, whom she studied and performed with since 1987. In 2003, she debuted original compositions and arrangements in concert with renowned guitarist Kenton Youngstrom and flutist Sara Andon. She currently serves on the board of the Music Teachers Association of California Redlands branch and the development committee for the guitar Certificate of Merit program. Her first book "Classical Guitar Theory Reference" was published on March 16th, 2020 (see below).
